But the young investigator Elena Rybkina suspects that this is far from a ritual, but rather an ordinary murder. Or maybe not so ordinary? Major Yuri Panov, a policeman from St. Petersburg, a former Old Believer, helps Elena in the investigation. His past is closely connected with a mysterious family heirloom — five precious stones, whose value goes far beyond the material world...
